We seek to be a community that together KNOWS God, GROWS in Christ, and GOES where the Spirit sends us.
We know God because he reveals himself to us in the world he has created, in the Scripture inspired by the Holy Spirit, and above all in Jesus. We seek to know him better through fellowship and relationship, and especially through the Bible.
Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit." We seek to grow in him and bear fruit in our lives.
Sunday worship begins at 9:30. Afterward, we gather in Fellowship Hall for refreshments, fun and fellowship. The Sacrament of Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
Other fellowship is offered during Presbyterian Women's Bible Study the fourth Friday of every month and weekly Bible Study after church on Sundays. Each summer, we run a Vacation Bible School.
Our Outreach Programs and Activities:
Our Church has been involved with the Homeless Shelter in Poughkeepsie, provides food for the Pleasant Valley Food Pantry, and supports CROP Walk, the Rural and Migrant Ministry, and the Foundation for Religious and Mental Health. We also provide support to the Lunch Box in Poughkeepsie through the donation of groceries and volunteering time for the preparation of meals for people in need.
The Bargain Basement is a thrift store located in our Church, which helps to support many programs and charities. It is open Wednesday and Saturday morning from 10:00am-1:00pm.
We are fully handicapped accessible and have an air-conditioned sanctuary.
Our church is also home to the Pleasant Valley Cooperative Nursery School.
